Summary: Very poor show
Comment: Wasn't aware this was a 2nd hand product.
Don't recall seeing it described as such.
Even if it had been...well...

So, it arrives packed in a jiffy bag, is tatty, scratched and dirty in appearance.
Hmmmm. Then to top that off, the speakers on the thing are knackered. Crackling fizzing and completely unlistenable.
Instaneously binned in a frenzy of rage. Cheers.

Summary: Cheap stuff
Comment: I bought this docking station for my Ipod a year ago. Very basic model and cheap speakers. The sound quality is the worst I have ever heard. Its better to spend money on something better

Summary: General review + info re 'snapping off' docking help
Comment: Really pleased with these. It's not like being at Gatecrasher on a big trance night, but they do their job as travel speakers or as a second "hi-fi". Tweaking your iPod's EQ menu helps them sound better - I like the Dance (bassy) and Electronic (trebly but little bass) and Rock settings. I leave the iStation 'surround sound' ON. (Surround sound only if you're the size of a flea, though.)
Cost me £50 four years ago (still going strong) and much cheaper if you play around with a few mouse clicks now !
Re some web reviews stating that continually operating the iPod buttons weakens the docking connection - I don't know if it works with the smaller ones, but on the full-size iPod or the new Touch version (I've tried both), you are supposed to take the clear hard plastic speaker cover off, REVERSE it and clip / slide it back on behind the speakers. (As in the instruction leaflet.) This means that the iPod has something to rest against when you press its buttons, taking the strain off the connection. Hope that helps someone. I'll update this if I have any problems over the next few months / years.

Summary: Really pleased with this product
Comment: I bought these speakers to play with my Sony Walkman MP3 NWZA818. Loved these speakers, I think the design is great, very light & portable to take on your travels with you, which is why I bought them. The sound quality was excellent, even when both speakers and Sony Walkman was on full volume the sound was brilliant, was very surprised how loud and good the quality was when being used at full volume. The 3 D surrond sound processor works a treat and definitely improves the sound quality. Really impressive piece of equipment. Included in the pack is a european plug adaptor, every adaptor possible for Ipods and an adapter for a MP3 you can sit the player in between the speakers without damaging the IPOD docking socket. When your using your MP3 player via the 35mm line in port you can sit the player in between the speakers as opposed to lying in down flat but it's not really designed to do this. As when the player is plugged in via the headphones input line you've then got this wire coming out of the bottom of the player which makes it a bit awkard for player to sit in between the two speakers but I managed to find a way that works for me but you may prefer to just have it lying down. Would have been great if they came with case but a medium size jiffy post bag works just as well and provides good protection when travelling with them.
