Customer Rating: Summary: The best mouse for Apple computers Comment: The magic mouse it is not only the most eye-catching mouse in the market, but also it integrates with your Mac perfectly. It recognised my MBP immediately, and since the first day, it has never disconnected from it. It is ultra-reliable. I haven't had any issues with the battery. The best feature is its multitouch potential, because it can replicate functions of MBP trackpads by using apps like BetterTouchTool.
You just have to hold the mouse correctly, and it won't cause you any tendonitis or pain.
I don't understand why people want to use the magic mouse in windows computers.
Customer Rating: Summary: Natt Comment: You need driver version 3.0.0.6 for true Windows users (boot camp windows users can find this more easily than normal windows users).
The one Windows installs by default doesn't give you up and down scrolling and the "hacked" ones give terrible drop outs every few minutes.
So I figured that if it can work without drop outs (if not with scroll function) then it wasn't a hardware issue and started searching for different drivers.
If you just connect you'll have driver version 3.0.0.5 and this will drive you nuts.
So now it is working... Well "right click" is still a bit hit and miss, to the point of annoyance. I'll be keeping by Razor for gaming but for day to day t'internet and the beauty of the thing it can now stay, because it does now stay connected at least.
Customer Rating: Summary: Another great Apple product Comment: The scroll ball on my Mighty Mouse is beginning to stick, and despite what Apple say it is difficult to clean, so touch scrolling is a dream, particularly with momentum, though the two-fingered flick to change web pages takes a little getting used to.
I have found no problem in clicking and dragging. I can lift the mouse easily while keeping the top depressed; much less strain than on older mice where you had to keep the sides squeezed together.
I haven't had the mouse long enough to judge the battery life, but I would comment that when the supplied alkaline cells die, I intend to replace them with lithium, which I have found very long-lasting on my old wireless mouse.
Customer Rating: Summary: Apple not-so-Magic Mouse Comment: This is a really nicely made object, as far as objects go. It's incredibly well crafted, feels good to hold (as an object), looks sensational and is a must-have if you like to fill your desk with all the latest high-tech gadgets and futuristic-looking products.
But, as a mouse, I'm afraid I just didn't get on with it. I don't find it too flat, as many have, and I don't find the touch-sensitive areas hard to get accustomed to. But I did find two things that I really didn't like and which, sadly, lead me to give Magic Mouse only one star.
First, it seems highly inaccurate, to the point of being cumbersome, in terms of being able to easily control fine cursor movements (e.g. when drawing or making very fine selections; it's just too jerky, and lacks the level of fine on-screen control that Mighty Mouse is so good at. This may have much to do with its weight (it's NOT light!) and the additional effort needed to overcome 'mousemat friction'. It's shape doesn't help either: I found it VERY uncomfortable to hold and use for long periods, and it completely lacks that almost ecstatic feeling of smoothness-in-the-hand, that is characteristic of Mighty Mouse which, by comparison, feels somewhat more natural to hold.
And this brings me on to my second point. The not-so-Magic Mouse has a sharp edge, all around the outer edge where your hand and fingers hold on to it. Aesthetically, it looks the business. But I found this makes it very uncomfortable to hold for long periods, and it always leaves a red mark on my hand and fingers after even a short while. This just left me longing once again to pick up my lightweight and smoothly rounded Mighty Mouse which, by comparison, I find so natural to hold and manoeuvre. Even my wireless Mighty Mouse, with the additional weight of the batteries, is for me a more efficient and comfortable all-round contender, whilst my black, 2006 Dell two-button+scroll USB mouse absolutely rocks in comparison when it comes down to comfort.
Despite the Magic Mouse being a beautiful-looking object made from excellent quality materials and produced to some very fine tolerances (full marks for looks and overall quality of manufacture), and despite all the additional high-tech functionality, I'm afraid that, as a mouse for everyday use, it only gets a one star rating from me.
Customer Rating: Summary: Magic? Comment: Love the wireless concept - hate the mouse. I like the roller ball on the original mac mouse so wouldn't recommend this product. Too much moving across the table/mat for me! Although is probably better if you have wrist issues from using a roller ball too much!Apple Magic Mouse
