Comment: For those who, like myself, have a busted optical drive on their laptop (HP Pavillion dv6 series, incase you're wondering) with Windows 7 (32-bit) on it -- rest assured, this product works like a charm; or atleast it did for me. Windows identified and automatically installed the driver when I hooked it up, so no need for the CD that comes with it.

Comment: This product ain't pretty but it represents excellent value for money. Plugged in and played with no problem. It stayed cool and worked fine whilst I uploaded several bits of software. The drive itself is lightweight, solidly constructed and ok looking (nothing stylish, nothing ugly).

Two problems with it - firstly it is a bit reluctant to open, sometimes needs poking repeatedly
secondly I had some trouble plugging the adaptor in, it went into the mains fine but it wouldn't go into my plug board.

Comment: I recently purchased a new Acer netbook but needed something to load all my music and programmes on to the computer.I read the reviews online at Amazon which made up mind, purchased the item and am very pleased. I plugged it in into the usb port and off it went. No complicated or long winded instructions and ready to use within a few minutes. It is sturdy in appearance but slimline, lightweight and very quiet. Another consideration was obviously the price and i feel it is very reasonably priced. A great little product.
