Summary: DOES THE JOB AND DOES IT WELL!
Comment:
The iPod shuffle is a very good product, however it gets a lot of stick. So lets just get this out of the way first; 'You can't see the song that's playing', 'It's too small', 'It looks stubby.' All of which are stupid and immature comments. But lets just eliminate them anyway. The first reason is because it obviously wasn't designed with a screen. The second is because it was designed to be the most portable iPod yet. The third is a simple rendition of the first. These were the responses I received when I asked people on their opinions. But in my opinion you cannot beat it. If you don't care whether it has a flashy screen then get the shuffle. If you don't want to be like the millions torturing their eyes by staring at tiny screens all day, then get the shuffle. Or if you love your music enough that you don't have to show it off, then get the shuffle today.

Summary: iPod Shuffle 2GB Silver
Comment: I bought this as a present for my mother as she wanted something for the gym. This is perfect as it clips to her belt so she can exercise without it getting in the way. 2GB is more than sufficient memory to hold all the different songs I put on for her to exercise to.

It was a prompt delivery and item condition was as stated.

Comment: This ipod shuffle was ok although it needs to be restored to factory settings as it is not in sync with my computer. It is ok though, as long as you know how to restore it.

Summary: Excellent at what it does
Comment: This is my first iPod but not my first MP3 player, the other one is a Kenwood Music Keg (Volvo called it a Digital Jukebox). Don't believe the claim that the new 3rd Gen Shuffle is the first to talk to you to tell which track you are on the Kewood did this years ago!

Back to the 2nd Gen I am still blown away by the size, utility and elegance of this player. I use it mainly in the gym but is it great on the move. As many have already said it doesn't have any of the selection menus etc on other iPods, it has two play modes sequence or shuffle play. The whole player is it's own clip so no problem carrying it, I currently have 160 tunes on AAC 128kbs encoding and they take up about 25% of it's capacity, plenty for a work out, battery is claimed at 12 hours I have no idea if this is true but I only charge the iPod once per week and this gets me through at least three 1 - 2 hour sessions in the gym plus a few hours listening while walking.

What you get in essence is a simple, smart player with a single 2Gb playlist of your favourite songs (if they're not your favourites why did you load them?) It requires very little interaction just set your volume and off you go. The standard iPod earphones are OK for walking around but for more vigorus exercise I would recommend investing in something less likly to drop out. My personal choice is the PhilipsSHS8000/00 Earhook Headphones , very comfortable and better sound quality than the std iPod ones.

If you want a player that you plug in and run, workout or cyle with and leave alone this is the one for you. If want some better control of what you listen to next go for a Nano.
